Epson WorkForce 320 Review
If you’re operating an office or small workplace that needs an inexpensive all-in-one multifunction printer, the Epson WorkForce 320 is among the best available. It has outstanding specs and efficiency for its reduced budget price and is just really hindered by mediocre paper feed and ink cartridge capacity numbers. It is a strong rival to the HP Officejet 4500.
Epson WorkForce 320: Design and features
The Epson WorkForce 320 may have an uninspired design that advises us of a ’90s fax machine, but it is practical and understandable. A top-mounted flatbed scanner with an optimum resolution of 1200x2400dpi suffices for digitising documents or sending out faxes, but the WorkForce 320’s catch-card is the 30-sheet automated document feeder. For its $129 asking price, we were very impressed to find this consisted of and found it worked perfectly.
Moving down the printer’s body, the manages are plainly labelled. There is also 5 presets that permit you to store often used fax numbers. We do not want the Epson WorkForce 320 has an old-style LCD screen instead of a colour one with a visual user interface. It obtains the job provided for showing basic information, but we think colour LCDs are easier to read and shape more message.

The paper input tray behind the Epson WorkForce 320 can hold 120 ordinary A4 sheets. If you are regularly publishing this will quickly run dry, but the back tray is easily accessible and easier to replenish than a bottom-loading cartridge.
A joint under the flatbed scanner allows easy access to the 4 ink cartridges. Establishing the Epson WorkForce 320 takes about 10 mins consisting of the initial installation of cartridges and CD-based software installation — we used an Apple Macbook Profesional 15in note pad for our testing.
Epson WorkForce 320: Publish speed and quality
We just weren’t able to accomplish the Epson WorkForce 320’s specified maximum black message publish the speed of 34 web pages each min, but we did come shut. Over a much longer publish run of 2 back-to-back 50-page documents, we managed to hit simply over 28 web pages each min when publishing in prepare quality setups. A preliminary web page out time of 12 secs is very outstanding and makes the Epson WorkForce 320 useful for anybody that regularly desires fast single-page printouts.
Colour publishing is about fifty per cent the speed of black message publishing. We found the Epson WorkForce 320 had the ability to produce about 9 web pages each min in prepare quality setting. Epson estimates several 15 web pages each min, so our outcomes were a bit off the note — not exceedingly so, however.
The Epson WorkForce 320’s ink cartridge capabilities are a small obstacle to its purpose as a workplace printer. The standard Epson 133 cartridges can produce 230 black and 305 colour web pages in a routine yield — preferably we’d choose the high capacity Epson 138 cartridges that yield 380 black and 420 colour A4 web pages. Fortunately, the WorkForce 320 ships with complete capacity cartridges instead of beginner ones, which are partly full of ink.
We found Epson’s 133 cartridges for $19.25 each online, production the cost of a complete set of standard ink substitutes $77. A routine black message web page should cost about 8.4cents and a complete colour web page about 18.9cents. Using high capacity cartridges, which are just $1.90 more expensive each for a total cost of $88.60, outcomes in per-page costs of 5.8cents for black and 15.8cents for complete colour A4.
